Maggie

Maggie is a dedicated pianist and the founder of Pureheart School of Music. Maggie began her piano journey at 5. In 1990, she started her professional training at the Jilin College of the Arts and ever since she has been in the profession of music education. During the time, Maggie has continued developing her passion for education at University of Montreal and the University of Auckland where she continued her research in piano pedagogy.
Besides delivering music education with her fans of students, Maggie has a strong focus on the interest in music pedagogy, aiming at solving obstacles and challenges for children in learning music instruments. Maggie identified hurdles for beginners to advanced pianists, such as practice sight reading, playing in public, acquiring different styles of music and comfortably reading challenging music.
As a pedagogue, Maggie initiated and introduced the concept of quadrant learning style to her fellow students, where they repeat quadrant learning amongst all the progressive levels. Through the focus of four different quadrants, Learning The Basic, Mixing Music & Thoughts, Demonstrate & Interpret and Apply the Context which assisted children to explore, practice, describe and analyze music. Children will also find themself improving in music via listening, practical activities and playing instruments.
Maggie is also an active soloist and chamber musician who has performed in China, North America, and New Zealand where she won numerous prizes. Nowadays Maggie is devoting her time in organizing piano performance, creating opportunities for her beloved students to gain confidence in performance. Inspiring and enabling her fellow students to perform for charities, for children with special and basic needs.
