What children will learn from us

Children will investigate and react to the musical elements of beat, pitch, tempo, rhythm, dynamics, timbre, etc.


The musical elements of beat, pitch, tempo, rhythm, dynamics, and timbre will be explored and identified by children through focused listening.


Children will learn to recognise and play with contrasts between musical elements through careful listening.


Through focused listening, children will explore a variety of patterns, effects, and sound qualities.


In addition to using instruments and technology to transpose and notate music, children will use focused listening to recognise, copy, and manipulate musical elements and structural devices.


To explore and describe musical structures and devices and explore, transpose, and notate music in various styles. Children will use focused listening, hands-on activities, instruments, and technology.


Focused listening, practical exercises, instruments, and technology will be used by students to analyse and describe musical structures and devices as well as to transcribe, transpose, and notate music from a variety of styles and genres.


Children will manipulate, analyse, and describe musical structures and devices and transcribe, transpose, notate, describe, and evaluate music from various styles and genres. Children will also use focused listening, practical activities, instruments, and technologies.
